Many of our competitors are very dedicated to the sport of jiu jitsu. Not only for their own development as athletes, but to help further the sport in the eyes of the world. Sometimes we receive letters from our competitors describing how much jiu jitsu means to them and how much they want the sport to grow.
-Anthony Casillas
"Hi, I am a 12 year old boy from Stockton, California. My name is AJ Casillas and I compete in the 70 - 80 pound division. I went to San Francisco for the Elite and won gold. I also went to the tournament in LA and won gold. I love your guy's tournaments. I compete to be at the top. Top of the youth division, top of the adults division, the top of jiu jitsu. I want to get to a higher rank so I can be taken seriously, and not as a white belt. I want to be the one who puts jiu jitsu in the olympics, like judo, and wrestling. Thanks to my coach, Randy Spence, and my gym, Nick Diaz Academy, this will all be possible."
