Carlson Gracie Garden Grove takes first place in Las Vegas Super Championship 2017 placing them right behind Pinnacle MMA in the race for the season title. It was not an easy victory for Garden Grove with the scores fluctuating between them and Cascao Jiu Jitsu all day. It wasn't until the last matches that they secured their victory.

This first place victory marks the second time in Jiu Jitsu World League that an out of town team (three or more hours from the event) won first place in another market. The first time this occurred was last year when Pinnacle MMA traveled to San Francisco and suprisingly took first place over Z Mata and Kola Ajose Academy.

What is next for Garden Grove? Their head coach Diego Segura is committed to the competition and winning this season's title. They have already won two events this year (Orange County and Las Vegas) and now have their eyes set on the Los Angeles Super Championship.
